Children’s Hospital Capital Campaign
Role: Designer & Developer

Description: MUSC’s development office was launching a capital campaign to raise $25 million dollars from individual donors to build a new children’s hospital. At the same time, MUSC’s enterprise marketing department was in the initial phases of a complete brand overhaul: changing the established identity of ‘MUSC Children’s Hospital’ to the comprehensive brand: ‘MUSC Children’s Health’. As the designer for the development/fundraising department I was tasked with building digital and print materials for the capital campaign and working with enterprise marketing to seamlessly transition the campaign as each phase of the new brand took shape.
For example, when marketing began airing commercials featuring a little girl jumping on a trampoline into a dream world, I updated the campaign’s home page to mimic the motion found in that footage with a parallax scroll effect by separating the little girl from the background of the provided still.
In addition to designing and developing the campaign website, blog, and donation forms, I also created the interim brand style guide, new business stationary, t-shirts, flyers, brochures, and the social media graphics used to support the campaign. I not only selected imagery and designed the monthly e-newsletter, but also helped shape the content by reporting story engagement metrics.
The capital campaign exceeded its original fundraising goal, and successfully bridged the gap during the brand transition.
